Upgrading a Front Walkway
The request was simple: to replace the front walkway pavers for our client’s doorstep. We took on the challenge to made it beautiful, but also had to work to make sure it was sturdy. As we worked on excavating, a sink hole in that area kept occurring. Addressing this was essential to building a proper, sturdy walkway, so we excavated two feet deep. We found an old wooden stump that we removed, ensuring that we had a strong foundation for our work. We then compacted with layers of clean, 3/4 inch gravel and stone chips. By layering and utilizing an open graded base design, this meant that we completely upgraded the stability from the sinkhole before. This also allowed us to carefully review the layout before placement and ensure that the curves of the walkway still looked appealing. The pavers we used were the Ledgestone 3 piece design kit from Cambridge Pavers in the color Sahara Chestnut.Price
